Target shares have lagged Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT) this year and the reason for that is clear from the two retailers' quarterly earnings reports. T-Mobile US has long been the scrappy underdog of the U.S. cell phone market, always willing to shake things up to gain market share from AT&T (NYSE:T) and Verizon. It has been hard to dislodge the leaders, but the company has been steadily gaining ground through its expanded 4G LTE network, the rising popularity of the Un-Carrier business, and well earned reputation for low-priced service plans.
